It was made in Britain circa 1980. It's 6 30 min episodes and was adapted from a radio series (the genesis of both being the book obviously). It was really quite good. The effects were lousy but the writing and delivery was sharp and dry. I you have Netflix or can otherwise access the series I highly recommend checking it out!!
