Killing the tank

- Do not try to take the tank alone, stay with team mates
- Location is key, you want a nice open space where all four survivors can unload on the tank
- Run around the tank, don't let him hit you
- Melee weapons are very effective (although not nearly as effective as before)
- Light him on fire

Playing as the tank

- Do not attack without Special Infected support
- Do not let the survivors past you
- Stay at a distance and throw rocks
- Do not let them light you on fire
- Use water to put yourself out if you get lit

The tank is just misunderstood. Try hugs not slugs. Tell him a joke, offer to buy the next round; lend a supporting ear and a shoulder to cry on. A little known fact is that the tank is on the mend of a bitter legal separation. His skull-smashing, rock-throwing, car-flinging angst are all just a cry for help. Get into his head and you might find not only a new teammate, but a new best friend.

I mostly set him on fire and run like hell. It takes about 1 minute and 25 second to kill him with a molly. I don't shoot him while he is on fire since that doesn't make his health go down faster, but that's my theory

Xrenzco, shooting them does make them die faster in l4d2. Also, the amount of time it takes for them to die depends on the difficulty setting.
