Another PC update.

Here's another update recently applied to the PC

While not removing Defibrillators, we have made some changes to them. We scaled dynamic Defibs based on map length. This means unless the Defib was expressly set by the level designer to have more, the Director will only spawn them on a long map. The Director will also cap the number to one per map.

Using the Defibrillator is no longer free; there is now a 25 point scoring penalty for using a Defib. That means each time you use one, you will have 25 points removed from your final score. Will your revived Survivor make it far enough to be worth it?

Health kits will also be less numerous as we have removed the Director's dynamic Pill conversion. Previously if the first team was injured, the Director would spawn First Aid Kits instead of Pills for both teams. Now the Director will always just spawn Pills.

The Jockey received some minor buffs. His damage per second was increased and we removed his damage delay.

So I believe this update may have massacred the game. This update really messed up some of the experience as well as not shown in the blog but they have removed Explosive Ammo COMPLETELY.

That 25 penalty thing is stupid and the no more explosive ammo is very, very stupid. this game suppose to be more fun but know that deffib thing may have make the game less fun.How do you get a 25 points penaly for bringing someone to life. thanks a lot valve.

Doesn't seem all that bad to me. When the game first came out lots of people bitched about defibs. Personally I never found them to be that big of a problem. Most times if you manage to kill one of them you're probably going to kill them all. Defibs were always a minor inconvenience at best. So if they put in less or more or add a penalty doesn't really make much of a difference to me.

More pills rather than health kits is a mixed bag in my eyes. Some levels have WAAAAAAAYYYYY too many (i.e. TP2). Then again some levels only have one or two at best (i.e. TP4). Levels like this could be best served left untouched. I would have to see how it plays out to really form an opinion on that one.

Making the jockey cause more damage seems a bit pointless considering how he's supposed to work. I would rather see more HP and if they would make it easier to land your jumps.

But, but, but I like my splodie ammo Sad. I'm sad now!!!!

Well I'd have to agree with redleaf the defibs were only a inconvience

And the explosion ammo being removed was probably because of the poll results so the community sorta did this to its self

I'll miss the explosive ammo. Not that it was ever a huge game changer. In most competitive games stopping to deploy and pick it up was more trouble than it was worth. It was still fun on a bun!!!

Explosive ammo is definitely fun on the commons and specials in campaign. I find it really irritating that explosive ammo on infected is actually used. We can get shoot, but we don't want to be stuck being pushed back.
The 25 point penalty isn't too significant, but that means using a defib will be completely unnecessary. Why use a defib at all?
Valve is a great company that makes great games, but when it comes to releasing DLC, and updates, they have problems keeping the game together.
Here's to hoping this update is worthwhile.

Ya.... I have to agree with you all. I was only thinking of the survivors POV I wasn't thinking of infected POV . Sorry about the other post I was kinda disappointed on how many updates valve has to make.
The other post was kinda embarrassing
