Worst mutation so far ....

Post by Xrenzco on June 21st 2010, 4:54 pm

Hey guys, some of you have complaints about some of the mutation that have been presented over the weeks.so which one was pointless and which one is the best ? The most worst one for me is headshot, its like playing the campaign but you have to hit them in head, boring. The most useful and fun one is last man on earth, it helped me get Still something to prove. (Other players answer may vary so dont get mad if your favorite is another players worst )
<------ HEHEHE farting

I'm tempted to say Room for One was the most pointless, but then I remembered it helped my sister get two of the five expert modes done, so it did have a point. Headshot wasn't great though, and nor was last Gnome Alive, a concept that sounded better on paper than it was in game.

Last Man Alive is still by far my favourite. Chainsaws was fun for a bit too.

wait.... it still count as an expert campaign when you play it on room for one ?
( Still something to prove ) and yeah chainsaw massacre was fun until you play it for a while, then it gets boring.

Indeed it does/did. Dead Center and Dark Carnival were done using this method.

My vote is for Room for One. Pointless, short, and terrible.

It's good that it counted toward Expert Campaigns though...

Correct.
Technically it's still legit, as you have to play the whole thing through on expert. Four Swords is the same way, albeit somehow harder even with four people due to swords being crap at dealing with Smokers, and the difficulty of slicing a Jockey mid pounce.

Room for One is still the worst.

Room for one is kind of lame, since it basically meant that
everyone else played for no real reason. Though I did like the fact that it
stated that not everyone else died.

Many a time it stated that my brother survived, which hinted that they must
have fought their way out.

Still I wasn't a fan of the headshots, I get why that was added as a mutation,
but well...since I'm not very good at head shotting the infected I struggled on
that one.

Another issue I have with the mutations is that some are made completely
redundant on certain levels.

Last Gnome Alive for example...the idea was pretty good, only one gnome left I the
world, except it wasn't on Dark Carnival, where you and a friend can run around
with a gnome beating down infected.

Bleedout, where in the passing Francis and Zoey were just giving away health
kits, which whilst can be appreciated, does sort of ruin the point really.

Although, I found Last Man on Earth pretty terrifying (Which I guess is actually
a good thing considering it is a game about surviving)...not because of any
tank, but because of smokers and jockeys.

Smokers I gained a horror from in L4D on expert mode when
you find yourself as the last one alive and no matter how many bullets you put
into this damn thing it never seems to die fast enough...
Jockeys just seem to auto targeting me, lol, I’m pretty bad against them
anyway, but I've had it where they've jumped over me and landed and then
suddenly they're on me and I'm dying horrifically and all with out a second
jump, just for kicks.

My favourite, I guess is probably chain saw massacre...because you've got an unlimited
chainsaw...and if you turn down your speakers so you don't go deaf it's pretty
sweet, and certainly changes the atmosphere of the game from: "Hi guys,
we'll have to be quiet and work as a team to survive this" to a crazed
blood bath. Having a zombie apocalypse has never been so carefree with a hint
of psycho.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TL:DR= I like Chainsaw Massacre

My favorite was Chainsaw Massacre... i loved the extreme gore factor... i was calling dibs on Boomers just so i could get bile on me and release my inner killing machine with the incoming horde Smile

The worst for me was Headshot... i took it off in the first level and never played it again.
